I'll overwhelm 'credible boxer' Jake Paul - Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua prepares to battle Jake Paul in an eight round match which will be shown in real-time on Netflix.

British boxer Joshua declared he will "overwhelm entirely" the American and "overpower" the American as the pair met personally to promote next month's bout.

Former two time world heavyweight champion Joshua battles YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul - in what is, on paper, a huge mismatch - at Miami's venue on December 19th.

Fighter's Mindset

"I'm going to break his face and break his body up. I aim to demonstrate I'm the better fighter," Joshua, 35, stated.

"I will dominate him completely. That's how fighters think.

"I intend to really want to cause him pain. That's what I want to do."

Civil Exchange

In spite of such comments, a composed Joshua and internet personality Paul - normally known for his dramatics - exchanged pleasantries and maintained decorum with each other.

Paul instead attacked former Joshua rival the Cameroonian fighter and called him "a joke" after Ngannou turned down a match opportunity.

Taking Aim at Tyson Fury

Joshua, meanwhile, took aim at UK opponent Fury - and refused a million-pound wager 'Tyson Fury' says he will place on a Paul win.

"Jake Paul is better than Tyson Fury - he showed up," the boxer stated.

"I respect him for that."

Legitimate Opponent

Despite saying he intends to damage his opponent, Anthony Joshua refused to speak negatively about his opponent's boxing ability.

"Jake Paul is a legitimate boxer," he remarked.

Paul's Background

Jake Paul - who first rose to fame on the television network - has primarily boxed MMA fighters or past-their-prime fighters since turning professional.

He lost to Briton Tommy Fury in 2023.

Financial Attraction

Still, the relative newcomer continues to be one of the sport's largest financial successes, consistently making huge paydays.

Prediction and Belief

The 28 year old predicted a stoppage in round four or five and claimed he would derail the highly-expected Joshua–Fury fight, which is apparently in the works for two years from now.

"It will be myself against Tyson Fury next year," Jake Paul stated.

Physical Disparity

As both boxers engaged in the traditional face-off, with their size difference on show, it highlighted just how unlikely this complete situation is - and how remarkable it is that the fight is really going ahead.
